Bloom Time: Late spring to early summer Bloom Color: Pure white Foliage Color: Rich green Fall Color: Hot orange red to burgundy-red Size: 2-3 feet tall, 3 feet wide Exposure: Full sun to shade Soil: Evenly moist to wet soils, preferably slightly acid. On alkaline soils the leaves may yellow. This is easily corrected with the addition of magnesium sulfate, aluminum sulfate or elemental sulfur. Pruning: Best if done immediately after bloom. Sets bud on summer prior to blooming. Watering: Water during periods of drought. Native to swampy and boggy areas. Wildlife: None Type: Deciduous Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. Uses: Great intermixed into a perennial border or when used in mass as a taller style ground cover. i.e. to cover a bank or hill or the edge of a pond.
