BLACK
BEAUTY™
(S.
nigra 'Gerda’ ppaf) It’s
finally here - the plant sensation of Europe is available in America. Black
Beauty is a breakthrough plant with intriguing dark black foliage. Not only does
this plant make ‘Guincho Purple’ extinct, but it totally changes your
perception of Sambucus. The leaf color does not fade to green in summer, but
actually gets darker. Loads of lemon scented, rich pink flowers in late June –
early July that contrast wonderfully with the foliage. Grow it as a shrub, or
cut it back each year and use it as a bold perennial. Tons of impulse appeal!
Developed by Ken Tobutt and Jacqui Prevette of the HRI
- East Malling Research Station in England. Propagation is restricted.
Zone
4, 8-12 feet, Fragrant, gr 0.5, Full Sun Partial Shade

BLACK
LACE™
(S.
nigra 'Eva’ ppaf)
Its intriguing dark foliage is finely
cut like that of Japanese maple. But Black Lace is adaptable to most
growing conditions and hardy all the way to Zone 4, making it a better choice
than Japanese maple for many areas. Plant it in the perennial border or
use it as a
dramatic accent in the general landscape. Season-long impulse appeal at
retail and its easy growing nature will make Black Lace a hit in 2006. A limited
supply will be available for Spring 2006 shipping. Locate a Licensed Grower

You're going to love it.

'Sutherland Gold'
(S.
racemosa) We are pleased to
finally offer this wonderful plant. Beautiful, deeply cut, golden foliage and a
graceful habit. Even though it’s said to be more resistant to leaf burn than
'Plumosa Aurea', it will look its best in partial shade. It also holds it’s
color better than other yellow cultivars. The new spring growth is a beautiful
copper-red.
