(Vibur-num: ancient Latin name meaning unknown)

Spicy fragrant blooms are pink in bud and open white. Dark green, glossy semi-evergreen foliage gives this plant multi-seasonal interest. Its blooms last longer than V. carlesii. AWARDS: AGM

'Cayuga'

 BLUE MUFFIN

(V. dentatum. 'Christom') An exciting new compact selection of Arrowwood Viburnum! The perfect  for residential landscapes. This compact beauty has loads of white spring flowers, and an impressive display of rich blue berries. Makes a great low hedge or foundation plant. Good container growing plant. Attracts songbirds. Developed by Tom Watson of Christom Farms Nursery.

Like most all Viburnums, fruiting is enhanced by planting two cultivars in close proximity.

V. dilatatum.   CARDINAL CANDY™ 

('Henneke' PPAF) A special new selection with improved hardiness and abundant shiny scarlet red fruit. Discovered in a batch of seed grown plants, after which a -30 degree cold spell killed off all except Cardinal Candy. Substantially hardier than 'Erie'. Tons of creamy white flowers cover this well branched, rounded plant in May. Fruiting appears strong even without  another pollinator in the area. Discovered by Rodney Henneke.

Selected for the profusion, persistence and unusual color of its coral red fruit that develops in late August and holds until early spring. In May this gem wears a blanket of creamy white, fuzzy flowers that nearly hides the leaves. Yellow-orange-red fall color. Fruiting is enhanced when two different clones are planted. Its large, eye-catching yellow berries glow against a backdrop of scarlet red autumn foliage. Use Viburnum Cardinal Candy as a pollinator to get the best fruit display.  'Emerald Luster'

opulus 'Compactum' 

Compact European Cranberry is a wonderful plant. It has attractive lacy white flowers and loads of shinny, scarlet red fruit. AWARDS: AGM

opulus ‘Losley’s Compact’  From the noted plantsman Ed Losley, we get this attractive new form that’s essentially a blown up version of ‘Nanum’ that actually flowers.  opulus ‘Park Harvest’

plicatum tomentosum ‘Igloo’  A great new, compact branching, dome shape plant selected at Winterthur Gardens. This dwarf Japanese snowball is a neat and tidy ball of green that rarely needs to be pruned. Lightly flowering, but still quite useful because of its burgundy fall color and good manners.

A hardy, fast growing gem with very attractive lustrous dark green leaves and pink budded flowers which open white. Selected by Decker Nursery of Ohio for its hardiness.

(V. 'J.N. Select')  Selected by Johnson's Nursery for its good form, good growth rate and attractive red-tinted new foliage. White flowers appear in mid May, followed by ornamental clusters of persistent, bright red fruit from late fall into early winter. Fall foliage color varies from bright red to wine-red. Available June Zone 2, 8-9 feet, gr 1.5, Full Sun Partial Shade.

trilobum ‘Wentworth’

This wonderful selection was selected for its very large, glossy red fruit that shine from early September to February. Aphid resistant maple shaped leaves transform from green to yellow to red in the autumn. White, pinwheel-like flowers. Birds love the fruit. NATIVE: North America.  Vitex agnus-castus ‘Abbyville Blue’

An attractive medium shrub that behaves like a Buddleia in the north. Bold, 12"-18", fragrant, violet-blue flower spikes in mid to late summer, lasting until fall. Cut back hard in early spring.

'Blushing Spires'

A beautiful light pink version of this bold die back shrub. A great companion to the blue flowered species.
