Hosted Pink Day fundraiser as part of campaign to raise $1 million for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
Moneta, VA, December 2011 – The Invincibelle
Moneta Farm and Home Center hosted their “Pink Day,” a unique in-store fundraiser, on May 21 as part of the Invincibelle
In total, the event raised over $6,000 for the BCRF. Photos of the Pink Day are available, contact Darlene Hensley at 540-297-5558. Moneta Farm and Home Center (www.monetafhc.com) is located at 11739 Moneta Road in Moneta, 4 miles north of Smith Mountain Lake and 10 miles south of Bedford City.
“We were amazed from the support we received in our little community of Moneta,” said Darlene Hensley of Moneta Farm and Home Center. “We decided to plan a Pink Day after learning our store owner’s wife was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. The staff decided it was the perfect thing to not just support her, but also to help the BCRF find a cure.”

“Our initial goal was to raise $3,000. But to our amazement, we raised twice this amount. We received help from local churches and garden clubs, as well as from our loyal customers, who donated both money and their time to support the fundraiser,” said Hensley.
“On the day of the event, we were overwhelmed by the awesome turnout, as well as the inspiring stories of those who attended. Many people showed up wearing pink, including women who have battled or are currently battling breast cancer. Moving forward, we plan on making Pink Day an annual event at Moneta Farm and Home Center.”
