 SUGAR TIP      Hibiscus syriacus 'America Irene Scott' ppaf, cbraf  

 

An eye-catching new Rose of Sharon with brightly variegated creamy-white and blue-green foliage. Unlike ‘Purpureus Variegatus’ this beauty actually flowers!

Loads of clear pink, double flowers and it does not produce seed.

Hardiness:  USDA Zone 5

Bloom Time:  Mid-summer to fall

Bloom Color: Soft pink, double flowers.

Foliage Color:  Green and cream variegated

Size:  8-12 feet tall, 3-5 feet wide

 

Exposure:  Full sun

Soil: Grows in about any soil unless it is either really wet or dry.

Pruning: In late fall or early spring. Can be heavily pruned.

Watering: Medium moisture

Wildlife: None

Type: Deciduous

Fertilizing: Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees & shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. 

Uses: Late season color, groupings or masses, perennial or shrub borders, specimen or containers.
